A white box test in cybersecurity is an assessment method where the ethical hacker or tester has total, insider-level access to the system’s internal architecture, source code, network diagrams, and credentials. Also known as glass-box, clear-box, or transparent-box testing, it is the exact opposite of black box testing, where an attacker starts with no prior knowledge.
